Letter: Dogs disturbing the peace

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I’d like to address this letter to the person/persons who think it’s O.K. to let their hunting dogs run in the Glebe (especially the Bendall Lane area) at 2:30-5:30 almost every Sunday morning. I have no problem with hunting dogs running through the woods or occasionally through the property during the day or early evening hours.

But I and my neighbors (who, by the way, all have our own dogs) do object to you letting them run and disturbing our peace at this hour of the morning. Our dogs hear them and begin barking and howling in return. And in case you think they are in a wooded area, let me assure you they are not. I have caught them right outside my bedroom deck, howling and barking like crazy. This is a residential area of nothing but houses and the road ends here at the water.

So far I have resisted calling the police, but now it is becoming a regular occurrence and is very upsetting. Next time this happens, I will either go out looking for ...
