Volunteering is generally defined as an activity performed by someone with concern for the welfare of others and is intended to promote good or improved human quality of life. In return, this activity can produce a feeling of self-worth and respect.

Bay Aging is an organization which has been serving and meeting the needs of older adults on the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula for over 40 years. But, organizations like ours cannot function or succeed without the energy and service to our volunteers.

We now are facing a great need for volunteers in Mathews County for our Meals on Wheels program. It seems people are not comfortable volunteering for this program because they are concerned of the amount of time such a commitment would mean.
