Letter: Disputes information on Heritage Park

In a May 7 letter (“A little more light is needed,” Readers Write), Mr. Robinson continues a verbal assault against Billups Creek residents and the Mathews Board of Supervisors regarding the curiously named Heritage Park, and suggests directing “a little more light on this issue.” A good place to begin is addressing the incorrect statements in his letter.

The abridgment of public access on the North River Mr. Robinson cites has no correlation with the proposed access on Billups Creek. There has never been public access on the narrow lane leading to the proposed park property.

A community park is permitted under the existing R-1 zoning. Mr. Robinson’s vision of a community park includes a board of directors largely from outside the county and disruption of the quiet and unobtrusive lives of residents living nearby.
