Letter: Disputes county administrator’s account

The article in the Gazette-Journal (“Supervisors turn down apartment proposal,” March 9, Page 1A) was well written by Quinton Sheppard and I think it was fair, even if it didn’t have the correct facts.

This isn’t his fault; he can only report what is given to him. Mr. Fedors stated that I had in a written statement from staff that the proposal did not align with the comprehensive plan and that I had that before I submitted the application. This is not true.

There was a meeting in June of 2016 with the director of planning and zoning, along with the engineer Al Ramsey, who was encouraged to proceed. I met with the zoning director on Nov. 21, 2016 and was led to believe that this was something that could be done.

At no time was Mr. Fedors in any of these meetings nor were there any discussions, so he is just covering for mistakes that were made by the staff as he has done before. All the planning director talked about was how she wante...
