Last Tuesday I attended the public hearing related to Mathews County’s Seabreeze Restaurant property. I was surprised at how heated the discussion became and dismayed at the level of rudeness displayed.

I say shame on the big teenager who nearly crushed me against the stair railing when I was standing. The target of his F-bomb was sitting on the steps. He apologized to one lady but didn’t think I deserved that courtesy. When I asked for the same apology, the attractive teen girl with him directed the same vulgarity to me. I reminded her that it is illegal to “Curse and Abuse” in Virginia. I believe it is a Class 3 misdemeanor (18.2-416). Really, is this a glimpse of the next generation?
