Letter: Disappointed in Rob Wittman

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I was so disappointed when I had seen that Rob Wittman was one of the 120 Congressmen who had signed the amicus brief in support of the Supreme Court overturning the Presidential voting results in four swing states. I feel this is treasonous, that the Congressman has violated the 14th Amendment, Section 3 of our Constitution.

Representative Wittman swore an oath to uphold our Constitution, not an oath to be loyal to our president. I feel that Wittman should be sanctioned by his actions, and not be allowed to take his seat in January. Our Constitution, Amendment 14, Section 3 states “No person should be a Senator or Representative in Congress who has taken an Oath to uphold our Constitution, shall engage in insurrection or rebellion against our Constitution.”

Congressman Wittman engaged in insurrection when he signed the amicus brief to have our Supreme Court overturn the voting results in the four swing states.
