It’s called the Department of Government Efficiency but it might be time to rename it the Department of Government Inefficiency.
Let’s start with the IRS; they’re already expecting tax revenues to drop by more than 10 percent, that’s about $500 billion. The cuts will make it easier for rich Americans to avoid paying what they owe.
Meanwhile in government offices across the country, workers are wasting time scrubbing DEI words like “advocacy”, “at risk” and “minority” from all government databases.
Federal workers are being sent back to the office except there are often no offices for them to go to, no desks if there is an office or no parking.
Trump has fired 17 Inspectors General but what is it Inspectors General do? They conduct audits and investigations, identifying fraud, misconduct and inefficiencies. In 2024 alone, Inspectors General saved the U.S. taxpayer over $70 billion in cost efficiency improvements.
