Letter: Dear Rob Wittman

Editor, Gazette Journal:

Dear Mr. Rob Wittman: While I’ve been hoping for a town hall for months, I was deeply disappointed that you held one in Gloucester last week that was both unadvertised and not open to the public. Isn’t the public whom you represent?

I do have a question arising from the e-mail you sent on April 29, titled “The First 100 Days.” You stated you received 32,635 incoming contacts from your constituents since Jan. 20, 2017. The concerns covered health care, the environment, immigration, national security and government reform. Although this gives the topic of concern, it does not tell us what the direction of concern was or your position on each. Were the citizens for or against the direction Congress or the President was moving? That level of detail is important to know.
