Letter: Cut the cord

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

While scrolling through Facebook, I came across this quote: “Fools take a knife and stab people in the back, the wise take a knife, cut the cord, and set themselves free from the fools.” Instagram—thegoodquote.

Over this past year, I have observed the members of the Board of Supervisors here in Mathews County. My personal experience has been one of frustration. I see some supervisors representing the county in self-serving, childish, and impetuous ways. They seek to work for their own agendas and for their own cronies, while doing little to seek out new ideas and technology, nor to work with the schools and the entire community. They happily voted against increasing the school board budget to accommodate a desperately needed teacher salary adjustment. Additionally they were supervisors when the “Hole in the Wall” lease was approved. Now, it seems, those same supervisors are curiously involved with sharing closed-door meeting info...
