Editor, Gazette-Journal:
A revered Republican once described our government as one “Of the People, By the People and For the People.” We agree with Old Abe and we believe Sheila Crowley (running for the Virginia House of Delegates for the 98th District) does too.
She will have our vote on Nov. 7. Her list of issues to support are all positive, and all for the common good.
Protection of our environment and preparation for the changes likely to occur in the near future are crucial, surrounded as we are by beautiful wetlands, creeks and rivers; crucial for us, but more so for our children and grandchildren. Livelihoods depend on the improving health and protection of the Chesapeake Bay, encompassing commercial fishing, tourism and our own recreation. Renewable energy is part of this equation. Sheila will support that.
Everyone deserves the ability to provide food and shelter for their family without holding three jobs. Sheila will work for a decent minimum wage.
