Letter: Courage in faith

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

It is encouraging to know that the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Norfolk is standing up for God’s Word and reminding Catholics (and all who believe they are Christian) that actions do speak louder than words.

Virginia’s governor, who claims to be serious about his faith as a Catholic, was chosen to lead the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Norfolk, but his actions supporting abortion and same-sex marriage defy the word of God and the Catholic faith. I am a Christian and have been praying that churches would refuse to be silent about His word and reject the anti-American threat of being “politically correct.”

Freedom of speech and worship are guaranteed by our Constitution, but we need to remember that our freedoms are inspired by God Himself.
