Letter: County board united in fighting the pandemic

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Collaboration, teamwork and trust are words that we have been sharing a great deal during our meetings. These words have proven to be even more of a necessity as our country finds itself in the midst of a pandemic. The Mathews County Board of Supervisors would like for our community to know that we “Stand United” as we find ourselves as a county, region, state and nation in uncharted territory.

Regardless of our circumstance, we are committed as your elected officials to guide our community.

Please be aware, we are in constant contact with each other, the county administrator’s office, local and regional partners. We would like to remind you of certain points, (some of which you have heard already from our state government):

—Our local providers (Food Lion and Dollar General) are attempting to keep up with stocking essentials. Please refrain from panic buying.
