Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The Gloucester Board of Supervisors wants to make a profit on the old Page Middle School property and attract more businesses to Gloucester.Gloucester is in need of a community recreation park.

There already are youth leagues that utilize the Page Middle School property and there is need for centralized adult and youth recreation in Gloucester.

Envision a recreational park with youth and adult baseball, softball, soccer, field hockey, basketball, football, pickleball, tennis, running track, hiking paths, horseshoes and picnic areas with grills and picnic tables.

The citizens of Gloucester deserve an adult and youth centralized recreational area.

It will take a lot of time, money and effort. Supervisors, please do what’s best for the citizens of Gloucester and the old Page Middle School property and create a recreational area for all of Gloucester citizens.
