Letter: Continuing a Gloucester County tradition

Citizens of Gloucester County came together to produce a very successful daffodil show sanctioned by the American Daffodil Society. The gym at Botetourt Elementary School was transformed into a celebration site of daffodils and the 30th birthday of the festival.

While a committee numbering 17 individuals planned the show—horticulture, artistic design and photography, they were supported by a community that loves its daffodils. So many contributed to a desire to continue a Gloucester tradition. We want to thank the Gloucester Daffodil Festival Council and Parks, Recreation and Tourism’s staff of capable and talented people. We are appreciative to the staff of Botetourt Elementary School, especially those who agreeably and temporarily were dislodged to allow for the perfect venue for the show.
