Letter: Connect the dots

I frequently receive criticism for expressing what many view as a negative outcome involving politics and the economy. I can only remonstrate: Have we as a people fallen so low that we cannot simply connect the dots?

It should be obvious to the most casual observer that economic hard times are well on their way. Unfortunately, the harsh reality of a declining economy remains hidden to those who exist in denial.

Many now recognize that Washington has had its Humpty Dumpty moment. Nothing will ever be the same again, no matter the election’s outcome. The electorate will likely continue to maintain its passivity and subservience to the current political and economic debt paradigm. While the Trump phenomenon has been hailed as the rise of the middle class, the fact that the middle class is in a steep decline cannot be dismissed. No matter the election outcome, the currency and the economy will continue to be manipulated.
