Letter: Concerned over loss of TV station

I feel compelled to write you of my concerns of what Nexstar has accomplished by discontinuing many TV programs and dropping Channel 10. To many it may seem trivial, but it is a matter of principle.

Many of us have grown up watching certain shows and have remained loyal to them throughout the years. I have remained a staunch viewer since 1966 to one of them. The actors were young and in their prime, as was I. Together, we have grown old and some, sadly, have passed away. But their struggles and conflicts were something with which the viewer could identify. To some, it filled a void in their lives—whether it was loneliness, sadness over loss of family or even concern of the direction our country is going in.

Someone should tell Nexstar their decision to drop Channel 10 does have consequences and, as one controversial and outspoken Congresswoman is quoted as saying, “It’s all about the Benjamins.”
