Letter: Compliments and remarks

I’m somewhat late in expressing my compliments and remarks about two events that my husband and I attended recently in Gloucester and Mathews counties.

The Little England “River Jam” on April 28, which was a fundraiser for Arts on Main, was a great time for all—good music and food (the crab cakes were so delicious). The weather was perfect. There must have been millions of buttercups which decorated the grounds. Thanks to the owners of Little England for hosting this event and to those who worked to keep it running smoothly. It was well attended.

On May 6, the Mathews County Woman’s Club displayed the artwork of many students from schools in Mathews. The art had been judged and awards were noted on pieces that received special recognition. What a job that must have been for the judges. There are many talented art students—youngest to oldest. We were pleased to see that our granddaughter won a blue ribbon. The refreshments ...
