Editor, Gazette-Journal:

President Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives with no opportunity to defend himself. He will be given only two weeks to prepare a defense in the Senate trial where Chief Justice Roberts will not preside since impeachments are for sitting presidents. The senator presiding as a judge is a Democrat and will also have a vote. Whether you like Trump or not, something about this is clearly un-American. I suspect this will not be the last un-American activity we will see from this Congress.
