Letter: Christmas Store a community effort

The 2021 Christmas Store went into Santa’s Bag another year with great success. The Christmas Store was held in the YMCA/Boys & Girls Club gymnasium again this year, which allowed for plenty of space for social distancing and more shoppers at one time.

We served 632 members of our community, 566 at the Christmas Store this year and 66 children in the Elf Shoppe, which allows children to shop for their parent or guardian.

Know that this is a community effort and we are looking forward to and already planning for the 2022 Christmas Store.

The Mathews County Department of Social Services would like to recognize and thank the many volunteers and donors who made the Christmas Store happen, this holiday season and throughout the year.
