Letter: Christmas in July

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

A few Sundays ago, my church (Ware Episcopal Church) had a Christmas service to make up for the one we could not have back in December due to Covid. It inspired me to write a carol for July. Try writing your own version!

In the early days of summerMy true love gave to me:Twelve crabs for steaming,Eleven gulls laughing,Ten daisies blooming,Nine storms thundering,Eight burgers sizzling,Seven children swimming,Six mowers mowing,Five big zucchini,Four red tomatoes,Three cones of ice cream,Two pints of berries,And a mockingbird in a peach tree.
