Letter: Chesapeake Bank helped

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I want to give a heartfelt “Thank You” to the employees of Chesapeake Bank. Late last month, eight Chesapeake employees donated their valuable time to help scrape, caulk and paint historic Walter Reed’s Birthplace.

This local historic icon was badly in need of exterior paint and Chesapeake Bank answered the call for volunteer help. WRBP is now a shining example of how our community works together to accomplish needed preservation tasks and the building looks great!

Thank you: Emma Barker, Kristi Rowe, Melissa Hicks, Amanda Pollard, Jessica Dehoux, Courtney Thompson, Gloria Williams, Steve Callis, Jill Ortiz and Kasey Malloy. Also, thanks to Chris Welch of Fairfield for his assistance. At Fairfield, we treasure our relationship with Chesapeake Bank and they truly have earned the title of a “community bank” which cares about our history, preservation, and everyone in our community.
