Letter: Can’t see or not looking?

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

This morning, I overheard a conversation at the local food store that bothered me. Some customers were discussing the upcoming Tour de Chesapeake. They were laughing about the ‘old’ people who can’t see very well—and might run over the bikers. It seems to me that we have lost too many young people on Route 14 and Route 198 from texting.

Visitors are coming from over 400 miles away to participate in the Tour de Chesapeake this weekend. My concern is for their safety from someone texting and crossing over the center line on Route 14 or Route 198! Drive with eyes on the road—please!
