Editor, Gazette-Journal:

John T. "Jack" White III’s withdrawal from the race for Commonwealth’s Attorney strikes me as a set-up from the beginning. I signed his petition as I feel the more choices, the better. However, upon reading his qualifications, he certainly would not have been as he says the best choice.

All the changes Mr. Bowen has told Mr. White he will bring to the job are already in place under the capable hands of Jack Gill and his superb staff and I see no need to change.
