Letter: Buck stops with Trump

I appreciate the good overview of the negative impact that proposed federal budget cuts could have on the Middle Peninsula (“Proposed budget cuts could have severe local impact,” Page 1A, April 6 issue). However, except for one reference to the “the president’s skinny budget,” the article never made that clear that these are, in fact, President Donald Trump’s budget proposals. As the story detailed, Trump’s budget, if enacted, could lead to the loss of dozens of local jobs and undermine key multi-state initiatives that have brought the Chesapeake Bay back from near ruin.

While it remains to be seen whether Donald Trump actually understands what his staffers have proposed in his name, the buck ultimately stops with him.
