I’m writing in support of Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam to be the Democratic nominee for Governor of Virginia in the upcoming primary. I’m just now learning all the good things about him, thanks to Bob and Sandy Warren’s letter to the editor (“We support Ralph,” May 11 Readers Write). We learned more about him this past Sunday at our local Circle-Up meeting as one of his aides, a very nice and knowledgeable young woman, spoke to us.

I’ve also been watching and reading his advertising and it’s so appealing and positive. It’s about helping all people in many ways, especially women, children and those who badly need affordable health care.

Along with Lt. Gov. Northam, I support Justin Fairfax for lieutenant governor. He and his representatives have been in our area—especially Mathews—at least three or four times in the past months. I like what we’ve heard about him.
