Letter: Bird’s Eye hits bull’s-eye

With all the terrible events happening on what seems to be a daily basis, I really enjoy reading the local paper. A major portion of your paper consists of community, personal and interesting achievements. It’s relaxing to know I won’t be bombarded with questionable headlines, or the world’s problems.

Don’t get me wrong, I pay close attention to what’s going on around the globe. It’s like mowing a wet lawn (world problems) and then sitting out on your deck with a cold lemonade (local news). A very refreshing treat. It’s reassuring to know there are folks in the community who care about their fellow citizens. We have intelligent, dedicated first responders, knowledgeable county employees, and friendly neighbors, for which I am extremely grateful.

But I’m writing for a different reason. Like most folks, I particularly look for a specific item or section in the paper. The first thing I turn to is Art Miller’...
