I want to share with the Mathews community the many attributes of my church, Beulah United Methodist Church in New Point. Though we are small in number, we are a church that is large in spirit. Our mission is to share God’s Word and to do God’s work.

Beulah’s warm and friendly Christian congregation is always ready and willing to offer comfort and love when needed. Our church participates in many charitable activities locally, statewide and worldwide, including Hands Across Mathews.

Several years ago, after the funeral services for my husband, which was held at our home in our yard under our pecan tree, the ladies of Beulah prepared and served a beautiful luncheon. Chairs, tables and even a bronze cross were provided for our use. The compassion and concern of the church members meant so much to me and my family. As new members of Beulah, we were treated as if we had been members for years.
