Letter: Be sure they reflect your values

What this country is going through right now is totally unbelievable. I was born 85 years ago, served in the military for 30 years with another 23 years in a civilian support capacity. I served during cold wars, hot wars and no wars. I always felt I had the support of the American people, all of them, behind me. How do military members, law enforcement, first responders, and all others who give their lives to protect this country feel now?

If they are like me, they likely don’t know who or what they are supporting. We have one large group called Democrats who are advocating the overthrow of our government as we know it now. We have another large group called Republicans who advocate maintaining the status quo. We all have the right under our Constitution to vote for any legal candidate for President and Congress member we choose. But we don’t have the right to vote for discrete groups with different philosophies and agendas and that is what we are facing...
