Letter: Are electric vehicles helpful?

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

There is a push for us to have electric vehicles. They can be more expensive to buy and to operate. Only a few can be charged at home; most have to be charged at a charging station. Using a charging station is time consuming if you have to go out of your way to get to one and then wait in line.

And the charging stations are fueled with fossil fuel, defeating the purpose of having an electric vehicle in the first place.
