Letter: Applauds Mathews Rescue for AED initiative

Recently I published a book, “Mathews County Scavenger Hunt—A Different Point of View.” Included on the inside cover is a listing of all the current outside AEDs in Mathews County.

The premise of the book is to identify buildings and sites by their photographs taken from “a different point of view.” I included the AED information to alert all residents and visitors of the location of these bright red lifesaving devices.

Currently there are 16 outside AEDs scattered around the county, readily available for use in an emergency. More can be found inside public buildings and churches.

The outdoor sites are New Point Campground, New Point Fire Station 5, Bethel UMC in Onemo, Haskins Bayside SuperServiceCenter at Port Haywood, Christ Church on Williams Wharf Road, Kingston Parish House and Mathews Memorial Library in the village, the courthouse at Liberty Square, Mathews Appliance at Moon, Gwynn’s Island Campground, Gwynn&rsquo...
