To listen to the mainstream media and some contributors to this page, you’d think the U.S. government reached into Mexico, dragged these illegals into our country, and separated the children from the mothers out of spite. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Several facts are glossed over in the reporting of the situation on our southern border. For one, the vast majority of these are not two-parent families, but women with children. Some are their biologic children; some are along for the ride because the women know they’ll get a better reception if they show up with a child. They’ve travelled hundreds of miles, through Mexico, with the implied consent of Mexican authorities, to show up on our borders and demand “asylum.”
