Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I had to wait a week to let the emotions associated with the Supreme Court decision to force homosexual marriage in all 50 states settle before commenting on it. Homosexuals always had the right to form a “civil union” with all the rights and privileges afforded to married couples. So this “fight” wasn’t about equality at all. Marriage is a religious institution. The government issues marriage licenses to raise revenue. No, this fight’s broader application is another attempt to destroy the church and to broaden our becoming a secular nation. You cannot destroy any biblical nation that has at its foundation a love of God and his son Jesus Christ. I view this travesty as yet one more nail in Uncle Sam’s coffin.
