Letter: Another look at the issues

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am writing in reference to Rusty West’s letter in last week’s Gazette-Journal (“We need new leadership,” Sept. 28 Readers Write).

First of all, Mr. West’s letter doesn’t mention that he is a school teacher and he supports Mr. Farmer because he “will fully fund the schools.” This means a new high school at a cost of $50 million-plus, while school enrollment continues to fall 60-plus students a year. Mr. West supports Mr. Smith, who has filed bankruptcy seven times and I feel neither has the financial background or management skills to do this job.

I would also point out that all of the restrictions placed on this county were done years ago by the previous planning director Jay Scudder and current planning director, Anne Ducey-Ortiz, and their staff that came up with these ordinances. These boards just vote on what these people present them. They killed this county with a total RMA. You have BMP ponds everywher...
