Letter: Animal lovers keep GMHS going

On Saturday, Jan. 26, our community came together for The Mad Hatter’s Gala & Auction, benefitting Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. The energy was palpable as 300 animal lovers gathered to celebrate and fund the life-saving efforts of GMHS. Attendees’ generous spirit and heart for homeless pets raised both funds and awareness. Through their contributions, many lives will be saved.

With limited funding from local governments, the gala and auction is our organization’s premier fundraiser. Our most recent event exceeded expectations in every way. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, attendees and the dedicated volunteers and staff who planned and executed the event, this was our most successful gala and auction to date.
