Letter: And what of the Republican Party?

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I’d like to say that I really enjoy the editorial section of the Gazette-Journal because of differing opinions that are shared with all of your readers.

The letter by Will and Barbara Maier ("This election is for freedom," Aug. 23 Readers Write) was of real interest to me.

The first paragraph was awesome. I think we all feel like that, no question. The second paragraph needs more clarity for me and I would imagine for a lot of your other readers. They write that the Democratic Party, as we have known it, is no longer in power. It has been taken over by a socialist regime that has no patriotism and no respect for our Constitution. What is missing to me are examples of what they mean. Be more specific when a claim like that is made. I’d appreciate it.

Now there was no mention as to the Republican Party being the same as it has always been or if it has changed from what it was in the past. I find I am learning more about the Republican Party ...
