Letter: An abuse of power

The people of our nation have been betrayed by the Democratic Party and the National Security Agency. The National Security Agency has exceeded its mandate and has been collecting the private conversations of individuals without a search warrant. At least in the case of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act intercepts. Susan Rice (President Obama’s National Security Adviser) has made use of this data for political purposes.

She exposed the names of private citizens discussed in intercepts taken from FISA intercepts and used them to damage the reputations of private citizens, and to provide political ammunition to the party currently in power at the time. The vast power of the federal, state and local bureaucracies should not be allowed to be used to intimidate, threaten or punish private citizens who disagree with the policies of the party in power, unless they are the subject of an official criminal investigation.
