Letter: America’s families are our strength

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

This is to honor those men and women who have achieved something remarkable in today’s world—marriage. They are still together. They stayed together through the painful years, those of sickness (many kinds), financial loss, separation due to war and all that brings with it, and yet managed to raise children who often require a strength and wisdom we didn’t know we had!

Women and men are made to be different, because God knows that children have needs that require a mother’s approach, when compassion and love will help the most, but fathers also love and can provide compassion when applying needed discipline. But only a father can teach a boy how to be a man, as only the mother can teach a girl to be a woman.

It takes real love—the kind that will overcome anger and hurt, holds the willingness to forgive and accept forgiveness (because we all need it) and the strength and courage that comes only from God, as long as we look to Him...
