Letter: ‘American Pride’ on display at Lee-Jackson

We wish that every veteran could have seen the program, “American Pride,” that the third and fourth grade students of Lee-Jackson Elementary School performed on Tuesday evening, Veterans Day, Nov. 11. They sang the Star Spangled Banner with the audience standing and singing along; God Bless America with veterans only standing; America the Beautiful; Proud to be an American; Let It Go from the movie “Frozen” and Firework, a popular song the children know (we did not). Not only did they sing well, but they really enjoyed doing it. Some waved American flags and others swayed to the music.

Our granddaughter, Adelle Hudgins, is a student in the third grade, so it was extra special for us, as it obviously was for many parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and neighbors too. There was standing room only. Good to see so much support for the children and the school.
