Letter: Acts of kindness make Gloucester a special place

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

My name is Kathleen Brown, and I am the cookie coordinator for the Girl Scouts of Gloucester-Mathews Service Unit #614. I want to extend a big "thank you" to the Gloucester County Department of Public Works for granting us permission to unload 2,030 boxes of Girl Scout cookies on Main Street at the last minute!

Due to the rain, we needed to change our original delivery location, and the overhang in front of the old public utilities building seemed just the place. Although I am sure it was an unusual grounds usage request, I sincerely appreciate the department granting us permission to utilize the space, especially on such short notice.

I also want to say "thank you" to the shopkeepers at Gloucester Arts on Main and Angelwing Stationers for their delightful hospitality that cold, rainy morning. Both shopkeepers were very accommodating and friendly, and all of us Girl Scout leaders out there appreciated it. These acts of kindness are what make Gloucester ...
