Why do we think it is no big deal to dispose of trash along the highway? Do we throw out litter because it is convenient? Is it inconvenient to wait until we reach home?
That is just trash, however; and there is something even worse. Some people dispose of animals in much the same way.
An animal rescue site on the internet that I used before described circumstances in which its dogs were found: A Pomeranian in a dumpster, a husky chained to a railroad station, a mixed breed found in a cage so small that the dog could not move, much less get to water or food, an owner who turned his dog into a kill shelter because the dog had become inconvenient, a dog wandering the street with an arrow in his paw.
Dogs, cats, horses and many other animals are living in throwaway conditions. Most of these animals have never experienced a kind hand, much less love. Animals have feelings. How do we explain a dog that grieves when its owner dies?
