Letter: A walk of thanks

Being recently retired, which I have labeled “reinventing, “‘ I have been able to take a walk each day which I couldn’t always fit in with my work day schedule.

For anyone who has considered “walking,” I would highly recommend it! As my feet hit the pavement I begin my “talk with God” … by being thankful for my health and that I am able to walk. As vehicles pass by and wave or toot their horn, I am thankful for community and friends, for first responders and volunteers who step up to offer help and support in so many needed places. As school buses pass by, I am so very thankful for all of our children and the teachers and staff who give them the building blocks needed to achieve their goals. As I breathe in the fresh Autumn air, soak up the morning rays of sunlight, and look around me at the trees turning shades of red, gold, and brown, my heart is filled with Thankfulness for our small corner of the planet and the beauty of nature that surrounds us!
