I would like to thank everyone who came out to Linda’s Diner on Dec. 30 to support the Mathews High School varsity basketball team. The generosity in tips given and the overall support for the team was kindly appreciated by the team and coaches. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Shelby South and Heather Wooten for volunteering their time to cook, serve and clean up during the event.

Most important though, a heartfelt “Thank You” to Linda Fitchett, owner of Linda’s Diner, not only for opening up the restaurant on an extra Monday night for this fundraiser, but staying and working for the event. Even though the timing of the event wasn’t the greatest for her, she still carried through with her commitment to host the fundraiser.
