Letter: A stunning page turner

Just the other day, while visiting The Island Stop at Port Haywood, I spotted several copies of Bill Johnson’s book, “Silent Tide,” on the counter. I couldn’t resist purchasing a copy and paid for same along with my gasoline purchase.

Now, after having read this rollicking tale of murder, intrigue, gun running and drug smuggling within a backdrop of Mathews County and so many familiar names and places, I must compliment Mr. Johnson for crafting what is a stunning page turner. I couldn’t put it down.

Toward the very last in the acknowledgments was the credit given to one of my all-time favorite residents of Mathews, Marion Grey Trusch. Thank you again, Mr. Johnson, for writing such an intriguing and enjoyable tale and thank you for your kindness and thoughtful credit to a now-departed sage of Mathews.
