A sincere thank you goes out to the deputy (deputies?) and trusties who cleared trash from the 1-2 mile section of Cedar Bush Road directly off Hickory Fork Road last week.
I can’t imagine how long the clearance will last, but, for at least a short time, residents can drive through that area, or invite visitors to drive through, without feeling embarrassed or outraged by the litter.
There are a few residents, many of whom are older retirees, who do manage to keep plugging away at the problem and probably would be more vigilant and proactive if the traffic situation in that stretch of road was less hazardous to pedestrians without a road block setup.
I know Cedar Bush is not the only span of Gloucester roadways that presents this problem. Certainly, many citizens would be interested in possible solutions if any exist short of the periodic countywide Clean Up Gloucester Saturdays.
Nevertheless, I am thankful for the momentary reprieve from the ugliness...
