A safety concern in Mathews

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I have a concern that belongs to Mathews County or the library. After you walk past the library there are steps going up to the front door of the library. There is no railing to hold onto. This is especially bad in rain, ice or snow.

There is also no railing on either side of the steps leading from the street to the front of the library—just bushes on either side. This does not appear to be something difficult to fix and could prevent people from getting hurt. I hope this can be taken care of before the winter sets in.
