Letter: A proven representative

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I want to compliment Rep. Wittman on his sponsorship of legislation that recognized seven Virginia native tribes by the federal government, as reported in your paper on Oct. 11. This recognition will hopefully improve their economic condition and certainly enhance their self-esteem.

This bill, which as you have noted had bipartisan support, is yet another proof of the ability Rep. Wittman has of reaching across the aisle to work for his district. He is pro-First District and zealous in his representation, be it with the defense of our land, the maritime industry, or Native American rights. We need him in Congress, to give us this excellent representation.

So, on Election Day, I say we return a proven representative to the U.S. House of Representatives. Vote for Rob Wittman.
