On Saturday evening, Aug. 10, we were privileged to hear the blues music of Bobby Messano and Steve Geller at Southwind Pizza in Mathews.

Thank you to Galoris Brownley, county resident and friend of the artists, for inviting them. Thank you to the Gazette-Journal for publishing the write-up that inspired us to attend, thanks to Southwind Pizza for providing the venue and to Mr. and Mrs. Diggs for willingly sharing their table with us. Most of all, thank you to Bobby Messano and Steve Geller for traveling to our beautiful region so that we could experience their rare and compelling talent.

What a shame Deltaville could not find a way to host these gentlemen, especially given the name of their newest CD release, "Welcome to Deltaville." (We bought five copies).
