To the citizens of Gloucester, Mathews and surrounding areas who shop at Walmart, I thank you.

Recently following a shopping visit to Walmart in Gloucester upon arriving home realized my pocketbook was not with me. I immediately returned to Walmart with little hope of finding it and my adrenaline pumping to the maximum. After revisiting the original parking location and then the checkout counter, I next stood in line at the service desk.

When one of the service desk ladies seemed to have a moment, I slipped out of line and asked her if anyone had turned in a yellow pocketbook recently. “Not that I know of,” she replied while walking over to a cabinet opening the door and asking, “what color did you say?”

My reply was yellow and with that she pulled out my purse and handed it to me saying, “there are a lot of honest people.” Yes, there are and I again thank you and Walmart.
