Letter: A lesson from history

This past weekend my wife and I were having breakfast trying to think of something to do. We decided to drive down Route 14 towards Yorktown from Gloucester to see if anything was going on, but as most of you know in a small town in the winter we struggle waiting for spring.

As we approached the bridge I saw the sign for the new American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and thought to myself I need all the culture I can get! We paid our money and began our journey back in time.

I think it’s been 40 years since I was there to visit the battlefields and with ADD probably did not pay much attention. So we strolled through the difficult and tough times endured for all African Americans and for all different nationalities at the time and found out one thing! We all strive for the same goals: Equality, freedom and to be in charge of our own destiny as a democracy and a country.
