Letter: A leopard’s spots

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Attending a recent dinner, a self-identified lifelong Democrat stated that she was not voting for the Democrat for president. Upon being asked why, she replied that she did not want VP Harris to be the first Woman President of the United States in the History books … silence provoked thought … and then the expected discussion ensued with various comments. The lame-stream press attempting to paint VP Harris as a moderate; the lack of policies coming from the Harris Campaign; Abysmal interview and no answer “fixed” debate performance.

It was then agreed that the age old idiom “A leopard cannot change its spots” was deemed an appropriate description for VP Harris.

With former President Donald Trump, know up front what you will be getting. With his four years in office, he was quite successful in keeping the world out of new wars, and was not scared to use military force to eradicate terrorist and organized threats to the United States. Jobs were available for African-Americans and overall the economy was in a much better position than what we are currently contending with. Immigration was under control with the wall under construction, and inflation was at 1.2 percent at term’s end. The United States was a major exporter of oil, being independent of the oil cartels for the first time in a long time and fuel for our cars was inexpensive.
